What we collect
To deliver readings, we collect: your email or phone number (for account authentication), your name, date / time / place of birth (for kundali generation), payment metadata returned by Razorpay (we never see your card number), the messages you send to the AI astrologer, voice call audio while a call is active, and basic device / browser telemetry (IP, user-agent, page views).
What we don't collect
We don't run third-party advertising trackers. We don't sell your data to anyone. Voice call audio is processed in memory by our speech-to-text and AI providers and is not retained after the call ends unless you explicitly request a recording.
Who processes your data
- OpenAI / Anthropic — Large Language Model inference for readings and chat.
- Deepgram — Speech-to-text on voice calls.
- ElevenLabs — Text-to-speech on voice calls.
- Razorpay — Payment processing.
- MSG91 — Phone OTP delivery.
- SendGrid — Transactional email.
- DigitalOcean — Hosting (Frankfurt + Bangalore regions) and managed Postgres.
Each is bound by their own data-processing terms and contractual obligations to us.
How long we keep it
Account data: until you delete your account. Kundali reports and chat transcripts: kept while your account is active so you can revisit them. Payment records: retained for the regulatory period (currently 8 years per Indian tax law). Server logs: 30 days. You can request a full account purge at any time by emailing us.
Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Email privacy@vedicshastra.in with your request — we respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU/UK, you also have rights under the GDPR; we comply on a best-effort basis.
Cookies
We store an authentication token in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. We do not use third-party analytics cookies. We may add a first-party privacy-respecting analytics tool (e.g. self-hosted PostHog) in future — we'll update this page if and when we do.
Children
Vedicshastra is not directed at users under 18. If we learn that we've collected data from a minor, we delete it.
